John Price (South Australian politician)

John Lloyd Price (14 February 1882 – 23 April 1941) was an Australian politician.
==Biography==
Born in Liverpool, England, the son of future South Australian Premier Thomas Price, he was educated at public schools before entering the state public service in the railways. He was President of the South Australian Trades and Labour Council and of the South Australian Labor Party. In 1915, he was elected to the South Australian Legislative Assembly as the Labor member for Port Adelaide, a position he held until 1925. In 1928, he was elected to the Australian House of Representatives as the Labor member for Boothby, defeating sitting Nationalist Jack Duncan-Hughes. In 1931, Price, together with several other Labor MPs, left the Labor Party and merged with the Nationalists to form the United Australia Party under the leadership of Joseph Lyons. He held the seat until his death in 1941.
